Friendly Family Nutrition

Welcome to “Day Three”

Friendly Family Nutrition

Today I am sharing packed lunches, I made my guys the following…….

Pasta with spinach and ham.

Carbs and Protein nailed. Try to buy quality ham as it is still a good source of protein even though it is processed.

Pomegranate seeds/cucumber and carrot slices.

This part is rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and the carrot and cucumber provide beta carotene and cucumbers contain the important nail health-promoting mineral silica.

The pasta was for the two girls and the wraps with avocado/ ham/ salad was for Luca.

The apple and fruit packets were a treat for them as we usually do not buy these.

Now honestly, this is not everyday but I do maintain the bulk of the lunch to be healthy.

We sometimes make a fast trip to grab a “ Meal deal” and on occasion we have forgotten lunch boxes all together ( kids fault 😉 and I have had to email the school and ask for a school dinner.

As said we are not always and everyday on point with our nutrition but 80 % of the time we are.

Today we haven’t managed breakfast together and dinner is looking unlikely too:(

At the moment the twins are having a tennis trial at our local centre and Eva is at an after school club.

Different locations and times,  one of the reasons I always need snacks in the car.

I have the protein balls/ chicken chunks and I made a flask of green tea and lemon .(for me)

PREPARED;)

Just throwing this out there, does anyone else have a dog that rolls in anything?

Nala surpasses her usual preference of fox poo today and went all out on a dead hedgehog?

Was it for the bristles to scratch her ? No she rolled in it’s guts:(

Now I always need to know “why” for everything so I looked it up!

Seriously I did.

Check this out!!!!!

Many believe it’s instinctual behavior, harkening back to the days when your dog’s wild ancestors would mask their scent to help them sneak up on their prey.

Wolves, for example, have been observed rolling in animal carcasses or the droppings of plant-eating animals, to cover up their own smell during the hunt.

Not much cause for hunting in sleepy Hertford but hey ho we will go with it:( like I have a choice.

Maybe she is masking her scent ready for the hamsters.

Happy Wednesday
