Friendly Family Nutrition

Welcome to day four

Friendly Family Nutrition

Todays antics have been fairly mild in comparison to earlier in the week:)

Nala has remained clean (Ish) although I believe she had a sly roll as she still smells:(

This morning we all managed to have breakfast together, as a bonus we stopped for a coffee for myself and hubby during the school run.

Hubby worked from home today so the morning was more relaxed.

My blender died today “RIP”

I was so upset but I did improvise….actually not as much mess as you would think;)

I make at least one shake a day after my dog walk to keep me full until lunchtime.

If you are looking for weight control, these shakes can replace a meal.

1 banana with 300 ml of oat milk and 100 ml water and 2 tbsp flax oil with 2 scoops of pea protein powder. I added 1 tsp mixed powdered greens and sprinkled coconut sugar and hemp hearts.

I didn’t walk Nala with the children today as I went with a friend instead, Walking with someone and chatting is fantastic, the proof is in the pudding as they say. (Who says that?)

Check out why friendship is good for your health.

Ideas are worthless if you never act on them. One of the best ways to get that action going is to create goals around them and share those goals with your friends. Friends force you to actually work toward your goals.

That accountability only works, though, if you and your friend are willing to share with one another and call each other out when one’s going the wrong way. Otherwise, accountability is a charade.

New year Resolutions have a better chance of succeeding when you are accountable.

Now back to Day Four

We all had a great morning and now dinner is going to be a stir fry.

Firm organic Tofu for me because I am vegetarian and chicken for the rest of the family.

Stir fry

Udon noodles (Whole wheat)

Vegetables mixed

Beanshoots

Chicken strips grilled in coconut oil

The chicken and noodles and veg are all mixed together and we use the following spices….

Cayenne pepper for myself (I have chilli and cayenne on virtually everything)

For the rest of the family we have Chinese mixed five spice.

They use a sauce made from sesame oil and soy.

Simple easy!

Luca and Nadassa have named their shadows today (Yes their shadows) Luca has called his “Lucas Sacul” and Nadassa named her one “Platypus P” Eva decided that texting her friend was far better fun and refused to play this time.

I haven’t named mine yet;)

So for this type of dinner you have around 20 g of protein

Protein is from the chicken and then the udon noodles provide a little more protein,  16 percent compared to just 10 percent for the regular noodles. The vegetables and bean shoots give the family variety and oodles (see what I did there) of vitamins.

We all like something sweet occasionally, so tonight we have goats yoghurt (More digestible than cows yoghurt for us humans) with granola sprinkled on top.I make this with porridge oats and raisins and mixed seeds and nuts. We drizzle maple syrup on after and I have dark chocolate. Why just me with dark chocolate? well I bought it and I hid it. Simple.

Have a great evening

Maria and Family xxxxx
