Drink 1/Carrot Kick This drink is great for your skin because of the abundance of healing properties, it has Vitamin C and Beta carotene which reduces inflammation and the apple contains collagen, making it great for maintaining that fresh skin look. Ingredients 1 medium sized carrot cut into chunks 1 medium sized apple cored and chopped into wedges 1 tsp ginger 1 lemon, juiced 150 ml filtered water Method Easy-peasy just blend for 15-20 seconds and serve. Serving size 1 The drink will separate if you do not drink it straight away and if it does just stir it again. TIP Add 1/4 tsp turmeric to make this drink even more of an immune booster, turmeric takes down inflammation. Itʼs also anti-bacterial and is a natural antiseptic. Drink 2/Envy This one is my favourite! Avo-thing you should need in a drink 😉 Ingredients 1/2 avocado roughly chopped 150 ml unsweetened almond milk 1 Tbsp chia seeds 1 Tbsp lemon juice Method Blend as before 10-15 seconds maximum or until smooth Serving size 1 person The richness of this drink and the fatty acids it contains, make it great for skin, the chia seeds are great to add as they stabilise blood sugar, and keep you fuller longer, they are very high in omega three and great for vegetarians who can miss out on omega three in their diet. A great drink between meals, also to bridge that hunger gap, but, not to ruin the meal. Tip If you have dry skin on your elbows or knees for example, donʼt throw the avocado skin away. Rub it on your elbows and knees, it softens skin. It can be messy, but it really works. Drink 3/Blimey Mary Yes, this one has another name usually, but my mum said it is more appropriate to use this name. Ingredients 1 celery stick, washed and chopped 1 handful cherry tomatoes, halved Dash Worcester sauce 1 lemon, juiced 150 ml filtered water Serving size 1 person Method Blend 10-15 seconds until the celery is reasonably smooth. Not too many chunks, I really dislike it when the straw gets small chunks stuck inside it. I like this one with ice cubes, but it is optional. This drink restores hydration due to the celery and fights cellular damage, which comes courtesy of the tomatoes, that’s what my mum said anyway. I also like this one because it’s a little spicy. TIP If you add four drops of tomato juice to 1 Tbsp of water and mix, then apply it to your face with the help of a cotton ball it takes down inflammation and calms the skin. It is also a bit messy. Drink 4/Banana Yango I word smashed here, sometimes you just have to. This drink is everyone’s favourite and I am guessing it is down to the banana and mango mix. Ingredients 1 large banana, chopped 4 Tbsp goats’ yoghurt 1/4 mango, chopped roughly 150 ml filtered water, 1 ice cube Serving size 1 person Method Blend 10-15 seconds Tip Goats’ yoghurt can be used in homemade face masks and will soothe irritation and take down redness on the skin. This drink provides Vitamins C so you can keep a youthful glow.
