Yantra style

Who has ever heard of Yantra style?

Well I have had a Yantra mat for over a year now, and it was gathering dust as I had not used it in months. I have taken it out again recently and use it nearly every night before I sleep.

What is it all about?

Both Indian and Chinese cultures have been using acupressure in some form for over 5,000 years.  It is still widely practiced in China today.  In India, yogis used (and still use) a bed of nails to help them improve meditation and promote healing. I am not suggesting that by the way;)

OK what is it?

It is an accupressure mat and working on that principle it consists of 8,820 acupressure contact points.

It is claimed that using the mat for 20 minutes per day helps to relieve stress, gives you a good night’s sleep, boosts energy levels and relieves aches and pains.

Sound amazing?

I can recommend it and tell you that it is nothing short of fantastic. I lay on it for 20 minutes before I sleep, well that is the idea anyway but I have fallen asleep on it, then woken in the night to take it away.

That’s not ideal but it proves how relaxing it is. I am now adding in the odd yoga pose but to be honest it’s so relaxing to just lay on it, I haven’t got very far with a sequence.

I purchased mine from amazon but I believe you can buy them from many health stores.

The health benefits including the good nights sleep is invaluable to your health.

WHY?

What happens when we sleep?

Researchers have shown that after people sleep, they tend to retain information and perform better on memory tasks. Our bodies all require long periods of sleep in order to restore and rejuvenate, to grow muscle, repair tissue, and synthesize hormones.

Thats a good enough reason for me to get myself to sleep at a reasonable time.

What else?

Increase in energy! That one in particular is pretty high on my list.

The blood circulation and oxygen flow to the body’s muscles and organs seem to increase. Blood pressure is reduced and it is the pain signals sent to the brain which releases the body’s “feel-good” hormones. The body’s endorphins and oxytocins increase and give a relaxing effect.

If you use the yantra mat together with a healthy balanced diet, regular exercise it will enhance the results.
